Frequently Asked Questions
1.) Do you sell toys and cages too?
Answer:
Yes, we sell a variety of toys and cages for your parrot. If you are going to purchase a new parrot from us, we also offer packages that include a new cage and toys for the new parrot. It is a very good value to consider if you don´t already have the proper size cage for your new bird.
2.) Do you offer wing clipping, nail clipping, and beak trimming?
Answer:
We offer wing clipping and nail trimming for a small fee. We do not do beak trimming.
3.) Is it humane to clip a birds wings?
Answer:
Yes it is. It is actually a good idea to trim their wings for their own safety.
4.) How do you bathe a bird?
Answer:
Well, there are a few ways to do this depending on your bird. Some birds like to bathe in their H2O in their cages, others like to bathe in the sink, while others like to shower with you. Another option is to mist your birds. You should really look at what´s recommended for your species of bird and the birds personality to figure out the best solution.
5.) Am I feeding my parrot enough or too much?
Answer:
Telling if your bird is over feeding is actually pretty easy. If the bird has a lot of it´s feed on the floor of the cage or around the outside of the cage then you are probably over feeding. If you are not feeding enough, it´s likely the cup in the cage is empty more than once a day and the bird seems to "scream" alot.
6.) What size of bird is right for me?
Answer:
What I like to do is go through a few questions to help you determine what bird is right for you and your lifestyle. There may be many birds right for you, however, this is something I like to discuss with my clients to make sure I help them find the best fit for their household.
7.) Will this bird bond with just me and not anyone else in my family?
Answer:
Usually a bird will bond with just one person the most, but will accept the other people in the household as part of their "flock".
8.) Are their foods that my parrot should not eat?
Answer:
Yes, please contact me and I would be happy to discuss this with you.
9.) Do parrots really need toys?
Answer:
Yes, all parrots need toys to play with in and out of their cages! It is in their nature to play.
10.) Do parrots need to be on a schedule?
Answer:
No! It is better not to have them on a schedule. Some birds will get spoiled if they are on a schedule and become demanding if that schedule is broken. Changing things up is good for them and you. A spoiled bird may become a noisy bird. Keep it fun and go with the flow.
